War on our Children
“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened ..."
I highly recommend this audio book Johnny Cash Reading the Complete New Testament. There is something about Johnny Cash’s voice that is easy on the ears and keeps you listening and I’m able to pick up on certain things I may not have picked up on when reading.
This specific verse gave me the chills and I had to rewind several times, then look up the verse in several translations.
“At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
Matthew 18:1, 3-6 ESV
“At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”
Matthew 18:1-4, 6 KJV
